While playing Ragtime on Broadway, I attended Rutgers Law School-Newark and received a Juris Doctor degree in 2000. I passed the New York and New Jersey bars and began my legal career in 2001 as the first law clerk for Judge Stephen Bernstein in Essex County, New Jersey. Since that time, I have worked in the Legal Departments of Jujamcyn Theaters and The Juilliard School; served as Acting Chamber Music Manager and Jazz Studies Performance Coordinator at The Juilliard School; and provided pro bono services, including corporate and foundation research, grant writing and administration, and fundraising support, as Development Projects Coordinator at the State Theatre Regional Arts Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

In 2011, I was chosen to represent The Juilliard School as Speaker for the Cunard Insights series aboard the Queen Mary 2. The presentation, The Juilliard School: Preserving Legacy, Cultivating Innovation, focused on the history, legacy and future of Juilliard. I was also a featured guest speaker on the Career Services Lunch & Learn Series on Performance Contracts Basics, providing general legal guidance to Juilliard dance, drama and music students on contracts and professional business practices customized for the performing artist.

I served as a Mediation Coach and Mediator for MediateArt at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) in New York City and a Mediator at the New York Center for Interpersonal Development (NYCID) on Staten Island, NY. Additionally, I have been an artist representative and President of Guiding Arts LLC, an arts consulting and arts mediation practice.
